In "Andrew Bynum still has knee pain, not close to return" the ESPN associated press brings to light that Bynum still has a long way to go before he will be ready to play for the 76ers. They question his work ethic because his knees aren't healthy but he still does things that are not helpful to his knees.
In this article it includes quotes from Andrew Bynum who has still yet to play. Analyst Stephen Smith questions Bynum's work ethic. He thinks that Bynum only cares about the money and not about the team.
I think that Bynum can be very successful with the 76ers once and if he gets healthy. He will be a dominant low force and if he gets double teamed he can pass it out to open 3 point shooters, which is why the sixers obtained Nick Young for example. His defense will also help the 76ers, because right now they have no inside defense and have been struggling with opposing centers. Their defense is degenrated from a year ago when they were in 3rd now they're in 15th.
This article made me ponder many things bout the 76ers and Andrew Bynum. Why do they question Bynum's work ethic? Has he ever given up on a team and is he just playing for a paycheck right now? I could check old press conferences for hints to this answer.

In "Marijuana law just creates criminals" by Hakeem Jefferies, he brings to light that marijuana is getting many people arrested each year. Also they are spending millions to arrest the many people that are caught for minor charges. This may be a reason that it might not be enough space for people with major charges.
There aren't many quotes in this article if any at all. It has many facts though from people who are educated on the subject. One surprising fact is that New York spends about 75 million dollars arresting people. Also 400,000 people are arrested for the same violation.
I think they should not be arrested for this because it's not as bad as cigarettes I heard. Why spend so much money when you can spend it on education which will lead to fewer numbers of people arrested for this anyway.
This article made me think about a lot of things. One major thing was that they are arresting for minor charges which is stupid. My questions is that if you arrest people for minor things where are you going to put people who do major things.

In "Should 16-year-olds drive?" by Ted Gregory he brings to light that some people think that the minimum age for driving should be bumped up. They think it should be lowered so teen motor deaths can go down and every one can be safer on the road. Some teens think that this plan is not true because it matters about experience and not age.
This article includes quotes from teenagers, legislators, and driving teachers. Something that stood out to me is that 5,000 teenagers die every year from motor vehicle crashes. It's shocking because so many people with their lives ahead of them die from the simplest things. This is something that everyone wants to stop young and the elderly.
I think this topic is very important because lives can be changed from something this simple. Before reading this I thought that driving didn't kill so many people every year. Now I think that it should be taken serious every mile. I think the deaths will go down thanks to the police keeping a closer eyes on drivers.
This article made me think about plenty of things. Like when I become 16 will I be able to drive like the laws allow today. Also if the deaths will go up or go down. I could find this out by interviewing people who know a lot about the subject. Also from researching the latest debates about these topics and project where they will be by the time I can drive.

In Philadelphia Eagles only question: Vick or Foles? by Ashley Fox she brings to light that the Eagles only reason for playing the season is to see who their starting QB will be in the future. Their season is over because they won't make the playoffs so they just need to forget about it and start Foles to see if he can be a great quarterback.
This article includes quotes from Eagles players and football analyst. Some thing that surprised me in this story is that they all think that Andy Reid will be gone. Not one person is giving him a chance to turn it around.
I think the Eagles have a chance to turn their season around but in order to make the playoffs they need other teams to start losing. Before reading this article I thought Reid had a chance to stay, but now they pointed out to me that it's very unlikely. This is an important topic for all Eagles fans because it concerns the future of their team and whether they will be good in the years to come. I think if they win every game from now on it's a chance because they're not the only team having a hard time.
This article made me think about a lot of things. One thing i wondered was why the Eagles are struggling so much and they have so much talent. I could find this answer by looking at games last year and this year to see what's different in their game play.

In "Reactions to Obama win vary, Peter Mucha explores the facts of the election results and what people think of it. Some people like the results, some do not care, and some hate it. Most of the people are against the results and the winner, they are saying that Obama is not sophisticated enough and not mentally up to the challenge even though he already led them for 4 years it is stupid to think that.
This article includes quotes from normal citizens. Something that stood out to me is that some people actually didn't care who their president was. This shows that they may not have voted and they don't care about their country. That's very shocking and surprising I thought they would take more initiative.
I think that the nation made the right choice with the election. I think so because Obama was the right choice over Romney, he was all for the rich. I think this is an important topic because our nation are in these people's hands. I think some people need to care more about the country.
This article made me think about a lot of things. One thing it made me think about was why people didn't care about the votes. Another thing it made me wonder was why some people didn't believe in Obama and his skills. I could find these answers by interviewing adults around my neighborhood. I think some people would be interested in the answers to these questions because it is very confusing and puzzling.

In "Will Climate Change Get Some Respect Now" the main idea is that the climate is changing in a bad way. They are also saying that the two presidential candidates are trying not to discuss. Maybe they will have to now since the hurricane has had a major impact on the east coast and damaged many homes, lives, and businesses.
This article includes quotes from governors and scientists. It also includes reasons why we should brace out self for harsher weather. The most shocking thing to me is that hurricanes may be getting stronger and other natural disasters.
I think this is a major topic and shouldn't just get thrown to the side and forgotten about. The climate may actually be affecting the weather and we should take precautions to stop them. If this goes on any longer and we don't take care of the environment it could be a permanent change to the climate.
This article made me think of a lot of things. The most serious thing to me is that if people had a tough time with the hurricane we just had, how worse would it be if it got stronger as said in the article. Also it states that we are having 100-year floods every two years now. If that's true then that means we're getting natural disasters way more than we did in the past and they are getting worse. I could find the answer by asking people who have been around for a while and ask how often did they have hurricanes and other disasters.

In Attention Disorder or Not, Pills to help in school by Alan Schwarz he brings to light that there are physicians providing stimulants to struggling students, but not for A.D.H.D. He's actually trying to boost their academic performance. Which is something that may be very dangerous or very helpful they do not know as of now.
This article mostly provides quotes from doctors and physicians. It also provides quotes from a superintendent of a school. Something that stood out to me is that doctors even consider anything like this. This is shocking and surprising in my eyes, it shows that trusting people is getting harder and harder these days.
I think that this shouldn't be allowed because it's giving them something that's not for them and could eventually hurt them. Before I read this article I thought that all doctors were helpful but in a safe and sure way. This is not a sure way to help people, the takers of this pill could actually have side-effects and things could start going south for them. I think this is very important because it is a serious topic that could affect our future.
This article made me wonder about a lot of things. One thing is if a doctor has ever given me something that I don't need to improve my performance in anything, such as steroids for sports. I could find this out by looking at my medical records and looking up the medicines and their primary uses.

In using iPads before bed 'can lead to a poor night's sleep', Stephen Adams brings to light that ipads can cause a lack of sleep. It is not just iPads it is any type of tablet. Phones are bad too but not as bad as a tablet due to the bigger screen.
This article includes lots of details but it's mostly from researchers. Something that stood out to me and shocked me is that red and orange light doesn't affect you , because your brain thinks the day is just ending. This shows me that your brain is very smart but can be tricked very easily.
This article doesn't change my way of thinking at all because I do not care how many hours I sleep. I still can get up and do what I have to do no matter how much I sleep. It is not really that important to me but maybe it is to my close friends and family. Before I read this I thought that it could affect you anyway but not sleep maybe the way your brain thinks
This article makes me think about a lot of things. This makes me think about if my phone has ever hurt my sleep. I could find out the correct answer if I do an experiment before I go to bed using my phone. Or I could have my brother try it too and get a positive answer to the experiment. I'm sure every one would want to find out the answer.

In "Texting May Be Taking a Toll" by Katie Hafner she says that texting is taking a toll on teens. She points out that teens are texting very much and it may not be good for them. Almost all of the professors think that texting could be very bad.
This article includes quotes from teen texters. It includes a stat that states that the average messages for teens per month is 2,272. This is shocking and surprising to me , I would never had believed that if somebody told me this on the street. This shows that texting might actually be addicting and hard for people to stop.
I think that this is a thing that will not stop anytime soon. I can't think of a way that it could be stopped unless parents take the phones. That would be a terrible thing to do because they might have an emergency and no way to contact anyone. But it still is a good article and a great way to inform readers of texting and the worries that come with it.
This article made me wonder about plenty of things. It made me worry about how much of my classmates text too much. I could try to find the answers from asking my classmates about how much they text and how often. I also want to know how their parents feel about their number of texts. This made me wonder about a lot of things but these are the most important.

In "Studies Find More Students Cheating, With High Achievers No Exception" Richard Perez Pena reveals that cheating is happening at great schools. He explains high achievers are just as likely to do it as others. Also teachers are not doing much to stop it as said in the article.
In the article it includes quotes from professors. One quote that I paid attention to was that few schools put any emphasis on integrity, academic or otherwise and colleges are more indifferent than high schools. This shows that schools may not really care. This really made me confused since I thought that a college education would be more than high school education but not if they don't care about what you do.
I think that cheating is going to be around for a long time. I can't think of a way that people can stop it unless you separate each and every single student. So to me you will just have to deal with the cheating for many years unless they decide to do something as crazy as that. If people put their expectations down and stop putting so much pressure on students maybe they wont feel the need to cheat.
This article made me wonder about cheating at my school. Do students at my school cheat on big test, or are we following the rules? Also do any teachers try to stop it or just let it happen? I might find the answers from interviewing teachers at school and some students. This is a big problem in schools as it says in the article so getting to the answer will be helpful.
